Nothing like a little hometown music to kick off some hometown football. Los Angeles natives, the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP) will be opening up the Rams’ first home game in Los Angeles in 22 years.

While the Rams are coming off a summer relocation, RHCP are coming off a highly acclaimed summer album. The album, entitled The Gateway, was released in June and it quickly made its way to #1 on the Billboard Album Sales Chart, and reached #2 on the billboard 200.

RHCP bass player, Flea, is a longtime Rams’ fan.

“Since I was a little boy, I’ve taken joy in the beauty of the Rams. When I moved to Los Angeles in 1972, I was getting uprooted from my home and I thought, “Well, where I’m going they’ve got the Rams. It’s going to be all right.”

Seems like a match made in heaven, right?

The Rams are taking on division rival, the Seattle Seahawks, on September 16th at the Coliseum. Doors to the stadium will open at 11 am and the show will be starting 30-minutes before kickoff.
