After a 28-0 blowout loss in the season opener to the San Francisco 49ers, the Rams have reportedly offered head coach Jeff Fisher a three-year contract extension.

Fisher has a 27-36-1 record since becoming the Rams head coach in 2012.

Coach Jeff Fisher Debuts His Own Radio Show

The team formerly known as the St. Louis Rams made the bold move back to Los Angeles. The move was nothing new for Fisher who was born in Culver City.

As a LA native, many felt Fisher was the man for the job and the young team. The first regular season game since the move was not the start fans had in mind.

Watch the highlight here.

The move comes at a time where the Rams have many questions in just the very start of the season.

Now sitting at 0-1 the road only gets tougher for LA and its fans. The home opener is Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Thereafter, the team heads on the road for two consecutive away games in Tampa Bay and in Arizona. So, the general consensus is there is a pretty good chance the Rams start in LA could begin at 0-4.

If that’s the case, why give Fisher the extension now? Could it be because he is that veteran coach that can regulate a young locker room?

Number one overall pick in this year’s draft Jared Goff isn’t the starter for the team, in fact, he’s not even second on the depth chart.

It is believed that Goff is not ready to be handed the keys to the entire Rams offense. But scoring zero points in the season opener under Case Keenum, the team must ask how long will it let Goff sit and watch from the sidelines.

But that’s what they pay Fisher the big bucks for, right?
